Formerly a medieval historian, I now focus on the effect of the Internet and the post-digital age on global politics and international relations. My main areas of research are cyber security and online activism/political engagement.

I have worked with Internet technologist and strategist Ben Hammersley across multiple projects for private clients and governmental organisations, with religious scholar Karen Armstrong and TED on their project The Charter for Compassion, and I write occasionally for WIRED UK.
